Kathmandu and away

The last three days has been a total whirlwind of activity.  But everything is on track and in order for a 6 a.m. departure tomorrow morning where we will take a local bus to the town of Shigati, and start our 4-day trek to Beding in the Rolwaling.  Here's a very brief update on what we've been up to.

On the morning of Feb. 2nd, we met with Ms. Elizabeth Hawley for expedition briefing.  As usual we had a very enjoyable meeting and she seemed psyched on our plan for the unclimbed peak.

And why are there three?  The woman on my right is Julie, David's partner.  She will be joining us for the trek up to Beding, and will be our base-camp manager and cook for the trip.  David and I are very excited about this.

On Feb. 3rd, we completed our food shopping, organized all of the necessarily expedition paperwork, and did some last minute shopping.

And finally today we had our expedition briefing with the Ministry of Tourism, which went extremely smooth.  So with that, we are on our way to the mountains.
